Summer in the mountains
Kleinwalsertal presents itself during summer time in many different ways and rich greens with a colorful flowerbed. There are so many different geological parts which make Kleinwalsertal very diversified. This play of colors tempts our visitors to explore nature by foot, bike or on one of the many mountain railways. We offer walking sticks and two e-bikes for rental to our guests to ensure your explorations are safe and proceed with the correct equipment. We always support you with tips which tours are best suited due to weather condition and time. Your host Simone Schuster who is also a Vorarlberg nature guide will gladly accompany you on one of your hikes if desired. The two country hiking region Kleinwalsertal and Allgäu have lots to offer and on 185km marked trails you can easily orient yourself. An advantage of our location: you can start your hiking tour directly from our hotel or a public bus for Kleinwalsertal (with no charge with your guest card) will bring you to your starting point.

Biking fans also have the proper place at Kleinwalsertal and Allgäu. In this mountain area you can go on easy bike tours through valleys with a low altitude or you can go on more challenging routes with strong rises and downhills. Here are a few examples for bike tours.
An ideal option is to go on guided bike tours to properly explore Kleinwalsertal by bike. A guide will show you everything worthwhile and also knows the conditions best to pair it individually on biking experience. Please contact us for guided bike tour providers or rent one of our two e-bikes (size M and L) at the lobby. Your own bikes can be securely stored in our bike basement and there you can also find tools in case of an emergency.
Neither hiking, nor biking
In case you have a thirst for adventure and would like to explore our region from the water you will not be disappointed. There are amazing canyoning tours on the river Schwarzwasserbach or at Starzlachklamm with its crystal clear water, massive waterfalls and other impressive spectacles of nature.
Instead of roping down, jumping and sliding you can also go for a unique swim in the beautiful lake Freibergsee near Oberstdorf which is imbedded in a breathtaking mountain backdrop. There is also the outdoor pools in Riezlern which is a little closer and especially for families with children due to its paddling pool, slides and sunbathing area.
Trip to one of the beautiful moutain huts
Unique in Kleinwalsertal are the many mountain huts that invite you to stop, sunbathe and linger. Treat yourself to some time out in the midst of the picturesquely beautiful location in the Kleinwalsertal mountains.
After the ascent, a great ambience, sunny terraces, delicious food and cool drinks await you. For the children as well as for the parents a welcome change from the stressful everyday life.
